Choice Based Lettings
Choice Based Letting is a system which has replaced the old points-based system.
Choice Based Letting allows empty properties to be promoted to a wider audience. Every week properties are displayed in the Sandwell Homes Property Shop windows in West Bromwich, Wednesbury and Blackheath. For more information and to view the properties please enter our Interactive Services.
Invitations from any eligible, registered members are then welcomed. A maximum of three expressions of interest can be made in any one advertising cycle. Once the deadline for expressions of interest has expired, shortlisting begins in the following way:
- Home seekers within a priority group and whose household best matches the property criteria will be considered first, starting with those who have the oldest registration date. Where there are no expressions of interest from home seekers within a priority group those households which best match the property criteria will be considered first in registration date order
- 40 per cent of houses will be shortlisted based on registration date only with no preference being given to those home seekers who are within a priority group
- The property will then be offered to the person who is top of the shortlist
