Janitorial And Cleaning
Our Janitorial teams are on site between the hours of 7:30am and 5:00pm seven days a week.
Our cleaning teams are on site between the hours of 7:30am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday and work alongside our Janitorial Teams to ensure the cleanliness of the blocks.
On a scheduled basis you can expect the Janitorial and Cleaning staff to undertake a comprehensive cleaning program, to high-rise and low-rise flatted estates.
This programme includes:
- The Cleaning of all communal areas, lifts and stairwells
- The undertaking of a daily fire safety check, taking immediate action where breaches of the Authority’s Fire Procedures are found
- The daily checking of rubbish hoppers, chutes and ensuring that all bin rooms are free of odour and vermin
- Ensuring that all communal areas are free of rubbish and obstacles
- The carrying out of handyman type repairs i.e. removing and replacing broken internal communal windows and door closures.
- Removing graffiti from in and around the buildings
- Ensuring that all repairs to doors, lifts, intercoms and other equipment are reported to the appropriate department for repair
- Monitoring the security of the estate and will report any breaches of tenancy conditions, all acts of vandalism and any form of anti social behaviour that they encounter during the course of their working day
- Ensuring that all common areas around high and low-rise flatted estates are maintained, to include litter picking and removal of rubbish
The Janitorial Staff and Cleaning Staff are responsible to a team of Internal Services Supervisors who monitor staff performance and ensure that they carry their duties out to the best of their abilities.
Within each High and Low Rise blocks are notice boards that provide more information regarding service provision and where staff sign to confirm that they have undertaken their duties.
Regular quality audits are undertaken by Facilities Management Staff to ensure the services delivered meet the required standards.

Our cleaning commitment to you is that lifts and foyers in high-rise accommodation are cleaned on a daily basis. Stairs and landings on all high-rise and low-rise flatted estates will be swept and washed at least once a week.
Re-polishing of landing floors, cleaning of landing and stair walls is completed on a programme basis.
