Vulnerable Persons Forum
On 10th June 2008, our unit hosted a vulnerable persons forum at the Bethel Convention Centre in West Bromwich in order to launch the vulnerable persons strategy.
The forum was a great success with over 60 stakeholders and service users in attendance from across Sandwell. The forum included a presentation from our manager, Sue Johnson.
The half day session included workshops on the vulnerable persons strategy, Tenancy Support Service, Warden and Community Alarms, the Community Care Housing Service and Choice Based Lettings. There was also an opportunity to look at information displayed by different agencies and for networking.
The feedback from the workshops was very positive and highlighted benefits of the Community Care Housing Unit and the joint working with many agencies across Sandwell on behalf of vulnerable people. It gave an opportunity to review the working practices of the Community Care Housing Unit, identify areas of good practice and areas for improvement.
