Tenancy Support Services
Sandwell Homes has a team of Tenancy Support Officers and who provide short term support to vulnerable people in their own homes in each of the six towns in Sandwell.
The Tenancy Support Officers are based at two locations - one in the north of the borough at the Millennium Centre, Friar Park, Wednesbury, and one in the south of the borough at Bristnall Neighbourhood Office, Beeches Road, Oldbury.
The North Team cover Wednesbury, Tipton and West Bromwich and the South Team cover Oldbury, Smethwick and Rowley.
The Tenancy Support Officers are available :
Monday to Thursday 9:00am to 5:30pm
Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm
The role of the Tenancy Support Officers is to
- Assist you in resettlement and provide help with setting up your tenancy
- To provide assistance to enable you to sustain your tenancy or maintain your independence
- Help with most of the day to day issues that can cause problems in looking after your tenancy
- Help you to apply for benefits
- Provide advice on budgeting or arrange for help from other specialist organisations
- Support with settling any rent arrears
- Support with gaining access to other services
- Advocate on your behalf with statutory and voluntary agencies
The Tenancy Support Officer will work with you to decide what sort of support you need. The support given will be for a short period of time to help you regain skills and confidence to maintain your tenancy and live independently.
The length of time you receive support from your Tenancy Support Officer will depend upon your particular needs.
