This vacancy exists within the Personnel Section.
The Personnel Section is responsible for the provision of a professional and high quality service to support our managers and employees in working towards achievement of targets within Sandwell Homes.
As a Human Resources Officer you will be expected to provide professional and proactive advice and guidance to managers and demonstrate: -
- A proven track record in successfully managing and leading a team, with the ability to motivate and direct the team towards achievement of targets.
- Evidence of developing and implementing policies and procedures in relation to major HR topics, including issues on sickness absence, restructures, capability, and discipline and grievance.
- Excellent working knowledge and experience of employee relations, occupational health, welfare, health & safety and developing new initiatives.
- Ability to manage complex tasks from inception to completion.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of financial implications of actions.
The post holder must be fully CIPD qualified and possess: -
- 5 years experience at a senior level in HR or a HR related discipline.
- Experience coaching and supporting managers to reduce sickness absence.
- Excellent communication skills, being able to persuade and negotiate at all levels.
- Experience providing professional advice to managers and employees on a wide range of employee relations’ issues.
- Good presentation skills, delivering complex information to all levels across the Company.
- The ability to deal with complex and sensitive issues.
