This vacancy exists within Health and Safety which is part of Personnel.

The Personnel Section is responsible for the provision of a professional and high quality service to support our managers and employees in working towards achievement of targets within Sandwell Homes. 

As the Health and Safety Officer you will be expected to demonstrate that you: -

• Have experience of providing advice and guidance at a senior level.
• Have knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, with the ability to research, interpret and apply it.
• Have a proven track record of development of Health & Safety management information systems e.g. OHSAS18001.
• Are able to communicate, persuade and negotiate with people at all levels to achieve positive outcomes for the business, whilst maintaining professional credibility.
• Have a high degree of competence in producing complex reports to senior management and outside bodies.   

The post holder must possess: -

• NEBOSH Diploma.
• 5 years relevant experience, with 3 years at a senior level.
• Access to a vehicle and hold a valid driving licence

Please note that qualifications listed as a requirement must be produced at interview should you be invited to attend.

As part of the recruitment process you will be required to undertake testing and prepare and give a presentation to the Panel.
